Kindle Fire Tips, Tricks and How to's

Hm I see they blocked off rooting on 6.2.1.. I'm not sure what to do now, I need to get ES onto there in order to sideload apps. Any suggestions? I'm not all that techie and ADB is pretty intimidating stuff.

First go to settings on the kindle then click on device make sure that 'allow installation of applications' is set to 'on'

I emailed the .apk to myself - checked the email on the kindle and installed it from there.

Awesome. Turns out Getjar also works, although the icons look horrible on the carousel. I tried changing launchers but they all have issues accessing the bookshelf view in the Kindle player. So for now I'll stick with the main launcher but I hope someone comes out with an alternative because it's really not that great compared to some of the other options out there - Go Launcher Ex is beautiful on the Fire.
