Anyone here with a Google Play Edition phone? Apparently 4.4.3 is available already for these devises. Ive got a Moto X and was surprised to see an official update for it this morning. Only noticeable difference is the dialer is a bit different. Then there is something that updated afterwards that came with 4.4.3 called Motorola Alert which is product specific, no idea what it is yet.

Useless post of the day......

I'm on 4.4.3 now, very little difference from 4.4.2, as expected.

Ah, I wouldn't notice the dialer, don't use the stock one

Picking up this issue with 4.4.3

After my upgrade to 4.4.3 (nexus 5) I am picking an intermittent bug with the release.

If I am in a whatsapp conversation, and I hit the back button to close the conversation, and then the back button to close whatsapp, I do not get taken to the home screen, even though this was the last screen I was on prior to opening whatsapp.
I get taken to existing apps which were running the background, Go SMS pro, Opera Mini, Seesmic etc. I then have to close all of those to get back to the home screen.

Anybody else experiencing similar?

Doesn't happen to me.

By my guesstimate I'm getting about 25% more battery life on 4.4.3 vs 4.4.2.

I think i am getting less. Had my phone loose half its charge by lunchtime the other day. So still waiting and seeing. Might have been an off day.

Yeah, I think I may have initially been a little over eager there, looks like it's settled in at around 15 to 20% better life, using Ktoonsez kernel.

How do you get the update on your S4??
My Nexus 7 received both updates OTA.

Got rid of that TW cr@p and I'm running Google Play Edition pure Nexus ROM. My S4 is a Nexus 5 without the limitations ;)

How does it compare to TW with a launcher?

Did the update to 4.4.4 & don't notice anything different yet, ..

I think most important differences between 4.4.3 and 4.4.4 are security related to do with Heartbleed resurfacing again on more recent versions of Android. Previously it was only 4.1.1 which was affected.

Wrote about it and ROMs here http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...oid-s-running-JB-4-1-1-security-vulnerability in-so-far as it affected the Huawei Y300, which I have.

I've been on CyanogenMod 4.4.4 since the 1st July (Nightly build), and don't notice too much difference over 4.4.3, except it does seem a bit smoother.
