I would wait for now since u might get some good specials after xmas or if u can find some now buy some stuff now and then after if u want.
Online shops look at take2 and prophecy.
As for the HHD yeah don't for now go with the seagates rather go Western Digital.
Also get a better mouse(usb) look more for something in the range of R250-R350, keyboard (serial) go budget(R50)

DDR3 = marginal increase in performance for a HUGE premium.
