There is a small but consistent stream of reports by some forumites of continuous problems. While some problems are network related and others are caused by the VMC dashboard, certain applications seem to give problems.

I'll use this thread to post the ones I know about. Please contribute if you have input.

Cannot use multiple profiles

VMC 3.0x/4.0x and Option 3G datacard: no multiple profiles possible without admin rights

Affected Version(s): VMC 3.0x, 4.0x and Option 3G datacard

Description: if the user is not working with admin rights on his notebook, it is not possible to use several profiles for the Option 3G datacard (for example one profile for an internet APN and one for a corporate APN). When switching the profile, the profile settings are not switched.
Workaround: not available at the moment
Solution: Diginext states that this is "by design" and not a bug;

96 Dpi

96 DPI

Affected Version(s): All dashboards

Description:
Option dashboards: Error message "The monitor has to have 96 dots per inch (DPI) to use Vodafone Mobile Connect Card" appears when trying to start the Dashboard.
Strategic Dashboards: no error message appears, but the installation screens and the dashboard are looking "damaged" because parts of the screen are cut off.
Solution:
VMC can be used with resolutions of 800*600 or higher, but DPI must be set to 96:
* Go to Start / Settings / Control Panel / Display / Settings
* Button "Advanced"
* Display "Font Size"
This is the way to set it in Windows XP.
We know this may be a solution that is unsatisfying for the customer, as it causes small screen fonts on small notebook displays with high resolutions.
Planned fix: VMC 5 or later

I had problems creating a second profile even with admin rights on XP Pro SP1 dashboard version 4.02.0006 and the Novatel card.

Something quite annoying with this application, all versions, is that when I start it, immediately it will disconnect my other connections like wireless LAN connection for example causing me to be offline.

It would be fine if it did that when I click connect, but I am offline immediately when I start the application until it acquired the network and I clicked on connect.

Then even when I clicked to disconnect, unless I fully close the application I can not re-connect to my wireless network connection.

I don't know if that happens for everyone else, I use IBM access connections, maybe its got something to do with it.

goodgirl, would the 'HAD' suggest you got it working? If so, can you give some feedback?

I uninstalled the old version and installed the Version 5 from you, with this version it is working without a problem to create a second profile now.
