I posted this in a different thread but I thought having a separate thread will help other Kodak users.
I have a kodak OG 5.48 inverter. Came with the house, the previous owner used it for a year and I am using it for a year, with no complaints.
The only issue is the configuration. So when there is full sun I want it to use solar first but unless I set the priority to solar -battery -utility
It will continue to use utility. If I use this setting, the problem is the battery drains in the evening, and if there is power failure I have no backup. So i have to manually go and switch it back to solar-utility-battery after sunset.

Try setting menu 3 on UPS in stead of APL.

How many source priority settings do you have?

You can also set the voltage at which it reverts back to utility to make sure your battery is not drained.

These are the source priority I have

That is the right setting, post screenshot of the descriptions for the 3 settings if you can, there is a condition you need to invoke on the settings to prevent the battery going low, voltage point back setting or something like that, you would in effect be lying to the processor to tell it you battery is low and should not be used to prevent it from draining overnight.

Okay, I think I see the problem but before that, firstly your charging current is too low so your battery is never fully charged. How may batteries do you have? Do you have comms between battery and inverter?

dint understand, please elaborate.
Page 18 in your manual. Menu setting 3. Do it on the machine itself by pressing the Enter button till it beeps. Scroll to menu 3 with the up &down buttons . Pres enter. Use up&down buttons to toggle to UPS. Press enter. Walk away...

Sounds like a few people here have Kodac inverters.....Intresting.

I run mine as UPS. solves the battery issue.
Yeah, there Is probably a much bigger problem with his setup, the charge current is too low so he probably goes into the night with a battery that's not fully charged and his charging priority is set to only solar which you can't rely on because solar is busy supplying the loads during the day and unavailable at night.

One battery pylon, below is the pic.
Yes, There is a comms cable between the battery and inverter.

I can increase the charging current, just dont know to what value.
I do have 6 solar panels.
Battery always was fully charged during summer before the sun went down.
But the issue is, if I leave it on solar >battery>utility it drains the battery leaving nothing for loadshedding.
So i have to manually switch it to solar>utility>battery every evening
