Kodak Inverter

I can increase the charging current, just dont know to what value.
I do have 6 solar panels.
Battery always was fully charged during summer before the sun went down.
But the issue is, if I leave it on solar >battery>utility it drains the battery leaving nothing for loadshedding.
So i have to manually switch it to solar>utility>battery every evening
Pylontech recommended charging current is 35A I think, set the maximum charging current to 40A, as it is now it's on 10A. Also check what options you have for charger options, setting it to solar only means the battery charges strictly on solar and it stops charging when there is no solar.

According to what you posted you are on solar utility battery, which should work out just fine, the problem is that your battery does not charge when there is no solar, so it drains until it switches off and the inverter powers off when it doesn't see the battery.

Change the two settings first and see how it bahaves, you can still alter other settings if the problem persists but don't do too many changes at once.

So that change to 40a charging made a lot of difference. Look at this now, its charging the battery and supplying the load. This was not happening before.
But the battery voltage settings are not right. Look its says battery capacity is 108%

As an aside I just took delivery of a Kodak battery and my 8 solar panels. installation set of 9th June. Had not really heard of the Kodak Solar products before now but as the Freedom 1 was unavailable it was recommended as a good alternative. That with a Goodwe 5KW inverter is the system I have gone for.

That is why I asked you about the comms, because generally Voltronic based inverters struggle with comms when connected to the Pylontech.

What is the inverter itself saying?

Ok, I was wrong. When I go back to check, the max charging current reverted back to 10a.
I tried to set it to 40, but it keeps reverting.

This is what I am able to see

If you press and hold the button with the return sign you go into settings mode, you can then scroll down through the menu with te buttons on the right to see the settings and change them if you need to.

How did you change it, on the Watchpower app? Try to do it on the inverter, you can also download the manual for it if you don't have one.

Have you maged to change the solar only charge setting?

He has to be damn fast. I up and down while reading the Booklet to stop it returning to normal view.

True, it helps if there is two of you, but there is a setting you do to stop it returning to the main screen, if it's activated you won't have issues.

Firmware upgrade steps are given in the user-guide but cant find latest firmware anywhere online.

Try to change the AC charging current to a lower value, maybe 20A and see if it can't save your changes.
I tried different combinations, the ac charging value changes and stays but the solar charging value reverts itself back to 10a.
Tried from the panel and app.

Did you manage to change the solar only charging option? Also refer to the manual I think someone posted it here, there is some setting that when selected it blocks you from changing some parameters. What is your battery type set to? Try setting it to user and see if that won't allow you to change the charging current.
