Bad news about Koeberg nuclear power station

Eskom says the planned maintenance of Unit 1 at the Koeberg Nuclear Power Station in Cape Town has been delayed until the end of August 2025.

Koeberg Unit 1 is currently offline for the second phase of its long-term operation maintenance programme and was scheduled to return to service by July 2025.

Eskom finds it difficult to get anything done. The reality, in my opinion, is that there is no commitment to doing anything properly, just nice sounding excuses for continued failure on their part.

Do these world class standards include mixing oxygen with hydrogen or dropping bolts?

"maintaining the highest quality standards": Probably better late than never.

As the costs mount, increases come, and the pie shrinks, you bet that SARS will become stricter than ever.

Ironic that the one industry with tax in its name, and a turnover over R100 billion, pays only R5 million in income tax. Must be nice.

Bah, shut it down, and turn it into a hotel.
Nothing beats green glowing eggs for brekkie.
