I heard that the shutdown was initiated by one of the safety checks ... so at least those are working ...

I do think that nuclear is the answer to our power problems ... they should just be built as far away from populated areas as possible though :/

Don't you wish you were in China. They are building 50 nuclear reactors over the next 20 years. The Chinese don't seem to have the trouble in developing their economy at breakneck speed. I wonder why South Africa is struggling so badly?

Agree. No China for me thanks ... it's competing with Russia to see who can destroy their environment quickest. And so they will want to imperialise other spaces as their own start to glow in the dark . Large parts of China are becoming chemical wastelands - like large parts of Siberia that became nuke wastelands. When nature has to pay the price for economical growth that nation fails no matter the economic wonders.
