Vodacom has 3 G here ages ago and you guys dont even have EDGE nor 3G and this is the heart of the WEST RAND / Mogale City..im at the TownHall (in the heart of the Krugersdorp CBD ) ( cell ID: KRUGERDORP ) and only GPRS????????????????????????????????????????

It is good to see that MTN is expanding 3G in the Krugersdorp area. The only problem is that of all the places listed above, only two are actually in Krugersdorp.

Will it be possible for you to indicate when we can see the rest of Krugersdorp, including Rant en Dal, Noordheuwel, Munsieville, Krugersdorp CBD, Krugersdorp West and Tarlton.

I am aware of a Spoornet test on the railway line between Krugersdorp and Mafikeng to use GPRS/Edge to communicate and control train movements, but it seems that MTN is not adding capacity and capability to this area.

The western small holding areas of Krugersdorp also need a lot of attention as these areas attrack a lot of visitors to the Cradle of Humankind with a lot of conference venues and weekend break aways. All of these people are starting to switch to Vodacom because 3G/HSPDA is now available.

Can you please indicate when action can be expected in the rest of Krugersdorp?

Here's the reply

There are only 2 sites left in that cluster to activate and they will border on the current coverage.

Nothing else on the list so no further 3G and HSDPA in at least 6 months.

That not good news, I am now force to continue to use Vodacom and in the process enrich Telkom. What a shame!

I hope that in 6 months from now we will get better news.
