Totally agreed.

Which is why you put waivers in sentences instead of making blunt statements, for example:

"In SA, free university would not work because of the tax payer base being too small and not allowing to fund proper education for the entire population".

Based on what we're getting for our taxes, we should have massively reduced taxes, not more.
 
Can tax everything 100 percent, that still only leaves 2% for education

This won't be a popular thing to say, but **** it, I'm tired and at a point where I say just give em all land and houses already, free electricity, water etc, and a chunk of cash to buy groceries whatever a month... ie, get the lazy parasites(which make up 80% if not more of the current workforce) out of the working places already, they are holding up everything and its costing us anyway. Sooner the waddlers and such are out of the work place the sooner we can start making some headway, automating and such. Public sector, something that takes one person a day to do, takes someone else a year, its beyond ridiculous. In private, a 10 second walk to check a price in pnp for example takes 20min due to conversations along the way, no work ethic, **** all... **** it. Give all those who want it, their crap free, and let the rest of the people get the country back on track, they'll be happy sitting under their tree doing f'all all day, its what they do at the moment in the workplace anyway. There are more than enough people looking to do an honest days work, if not, we can start importing... Also, then there will be no need for free education:D

Edit: And before someone cries 'racist', its all races... although, chinese and indians seem more pumped up and willing to work(mainly rip you off and make you happy while they do it) than anyone else

They were not free, someone else paid but they were by no means free. If some other commie state wants other people to pay so adult students don't have to take responsibility for their own lives then that is their choice. Does not mean we should do it here.

Actually paying for uni through tax money is actually paying for it more than a study loan. With a study loan when you pay it off it is done with and the paying is finished, you have to pay tax forever though so you will be paying other people's UNI bill long after anyone with a study loan ever did.

Sorry that reality does not coincide with you socialism but that is reality for everyone, even those with 3 degrees

Exactly, nothing is for free. That "free" education is paid by the tax payer but if you look at those European countries the majority of the population is working and paying taxes and they see the rewards for paying those taxes. A country where the ones that are paying taxes are outnumbered by the ones that do not it will never work and is just a recipe for disaster. The money will run out, the professors and lecturers will resign as they won't get paid and in the end you sit with hundreds of "qualified" idiots that aren't worth two cents.
 
Tell you what, we agree to those taxes, on the provision that legislation is generated that states that any politician who is corrupt automatically gets a life sentence in pollsmoor. How's that for a deal?

It is the same as with any insurance fund. If more people are contributing to a fund than people taking from it then the insurance scheme is in a healthy state and can continue to operate. If there are 25 - 33 percent of the people taking from the fund not contributing a single cent then it is impossible to fund it that way.

I’m not socialist, I haven’t given any credit to this system, just merely destroyed the blunt assumption that free education is necessarily shyte.

You changed the goal post and my statement all at once.
