KZN facing worst drought since 1982

LOL, its mayhem on the roads, had to try a few routes to get home and Im in a bakkie with good clearance.
Just hope all this wet stuff is falling where it needs to be as well though.

It's falling into buckets in my lounge, so no.
 
Riverside Park flood plain is completely flooded. Only a matter of time before some of the buildings there are as well. Water had reached many of their car parks when I drove past.

Umlhanga river has burst its banks and my house has been partially flooded in areas.

No rain for 10 months and suddenly all hell breaks loose :confused:
 
Took me 30 mins to get home from work when it usually takes 10.
 
But is it raining higher up?
Will the snow in the mountains help the dry areas?
 
Our garage is flooded. My favorite MTB trail has been washed away and it sounds like a typhoon outside. Definitely not liking the weather. Schools who have many rural learners are going to be severely impacted tomorrow.
 
I've had just on 200 mm since lunch time yesterday - not bad!!

That's in Umkomaas - until yesterday, we were 100 mm behind last season, so we've just had a very quick catch-up!

People should stay off the roads if they can, sat at a mall exit today and had to turn into traffic, thought it was clear but some twat was driving with his light off and you can't see him in that rain.

Garage got flooded as the drain in front of it got blocked with crap and the water pushed through the bottom of the door. All swithes in the garage db keep on tripping so I suspect the outside lights got water into them as the plugs are high up.

The number of cars on the highway today with their headlights off astounded me.

The catchment areas are well covered by the rain & then there's also the snow that still has to melt.

We had over 150mm here since last night and that was before the heavens opened up properly this afternoon. The ground was saturated & water just pooled everywhere.
 
This is just the start boys... more of this is going to come over the next few months
 
Yikes seems quite bad. Been raining constantly here since late yesterday. Still going strong.

That is good news. Sorry about the flooding though.

We're driving through NW and Limpopo the weekend. When the big rain comes it's going to wash away and flood things.
