Hi all,

So I'm unable to sign up at any address it seems in the whole of KZN.

The LTE Uncapped coverage map has now Tower "Rockets" on it anymore. I know numerous people who have it, including my parents.

So either it's a bug in the coverage map or there's, which seems unlikley, no more uncapped lte in KZN.

If it is a bug it's preventing me from signing up on the phone, store etc becase the Telkom staff all go to that map, enter my address, "oh sorry you're not in coverage", yet the whole of KZN seems to be in the same problem. See image.

People in Durban have the Ocean, you supposed to be on the beach.
Why do you need internet for?

But seriously I have a friend in Durban who uses LTE Uncapped so there is coverage even if the map says no.

It's forever raining here. Mostly on weekends. :/

Yup I know plenty people who have it, as mentioned including my parents.

Is there a Telkom rep here as I reported this problem on Twitter to them and in Jan over their Chat support.

As far as I know they are moving away from the uncapped saga which backfired on them for the use of their fair use policy probably why they changing their map.

If you go to their normal coverage map and search for connectivity it will break it down to what is available in the area, i.e ADSL, Fibre, LTE, etc

You maybe able to sign up for LTE then upgrade to uncapped. Also they seem to limit their towers to 150 users or uncapped users. I am not sure which.

It just seems strange that every single tower in KZN is "full"

I had a chat with a few online telkom agents and some dont even know that this page even exist :wtf:

Basically most responses are "the promo says that listed area's are only applicable or until all towers have been filled"

I asked them to escalate to the marketing team and escalation is no go zone for them.. most likely they dont want to the extra work..

Try sell-direct, thats the marketing company telkom used to first sell the uncapped product

I tired to get the uncapped LTE as my complex has no fibre. Fibre is out as my body corporate will not allow a service provider in, for now at least. Even though I have LTE and LTE-A coverage, Telkom can't give me uncapped as I am not in the uncapped coverage area. So frustrating that in this day and age, I can't get uncapped in Midrand.
