The KZN Winter Air Tour, a series of 7 airshows in 7 towns over 7 weeks, started this past weekend with an spectacular line up of aviation entertainment for the people of Newcastle.
The Newcastle Airshow is the first in the series and didn’t disappoint as it delivered a full day of high flying excitement and riveting entertainment.
World Champion Nigel Hopkins was in great form while the Gabriel Pitt Specials delivered a break-taking display but the highlight of the day had to be the Boeing 737 flown by Captain Glenn Warden who had the crowd totally engrossed with his low fly byes – a first for Newcastle.
The next airshow takes place in Mkuze this coming weekend, 8th June and is free to the public.
