KZN's shocking HIV rates

This is indeed a true reflection of the situation in KZN.
In 10 to 20 years time there may be only white people living there? Quoted from Local Doctor at St Lucia.

In Dududu ("dukuduku") about 5 km outside St Lucia the prevalence is 48%, meaning that one in every two people has AIDS!
A local Doctor at St Lucia told us how bad the situation was several years ago and we didn't believe him, but with this evidence he was certainly correct in his assumption that in a decade or two there may only be white people living in that area.

Never mind firing the Minister. It is too late for those souls.
They may as well charge the Minister with gross dereliction of duty and HIV-Genocide.
The Zulu Nation is going to ranked with other endangered species like Rhino.
 
As stupid as the minister and her policies are, at some point the blame for these infection rates has to be passed onto the people involved. Aids is not new or mysterious and although the governments stance doesn't help it certainly doesn't remove personal responsibility.
 
Heard a report stating that (even with the influx of people into cities) the population is static - due to all the deaths!!
 
KZLN is a tough place to live. I believe rhino's are still endangered. Not sure whether it's black or white.
 
BTTB : Whilst those figures are shocking, much higher than the national average of 30% for women, these stats must be taken in context. These stats only apply to women that applied for the HIV prevention trial. This suffers from the same problem that we discovered with all the old HIV stats, which were based off of the stats at ante-natal clinics. The problem was that these stats showed 30% infection rates, whilst it turned out that the actual rate was just over 10%. The reason was that women have a *much, much* higher risk if infection, and that women at an ante-natal clinic were more likely to be behaving in risky behavoiur.
I think these stats suffer from the same problem
 
Professor Gita Ramjee, of the Medical Research Council in Durban, said that in one area of the South Coast the HIV prevalence level in women was as high at 70 percent, while in the Embo area near Botha's Hill researchers found a prevalence level of more than 66 percent.

This seems a province wide survey. Few people step forward for testing - the overall country rate is probably 50% (heard??!) - numerous deaths ascribed to TB or "natural causes" - nobody knows the true rate because none know and none care!!

Just glad Manto hasn't asked to be transfered to DoC, we're already in enough hot water with Ivy :D

Build more fruit and veg cities in KZN...i think there is a garlic and lemon supply problem
 
O_o dang that just sucks, I dont think manto or any of them care, to them it just means less IFP voters. Once a person has HIV/AIDS thats it, tickets. a +/- 10 year cap on your life, unless you get super fast beetroot from manto, you could live up to 12 years.
 
At least six hospitals in and around Durban are treating patients for extremely drug resistant tuberculosis (XDR-TB), which has already claimed at least 50 lives in the Tugela Ferry area.

At a press conference in Durban on Wednesday, the provincial department of health said that hospitals throughout the province were caring for patients with XDR-TB, but insisted that there was no outbreak.

Major city population rates are static (or declining) - due to all the deaths -this including migrants, general mass move to the cities.

Know someone that tested their staff in rural KZN ( a few hundred so a decent sized sample) and the prevalence was 60%.
