thats exactly the opposite of what i do, low res, but my textures are all on max (esp viewing distance to stop sneaky puffadders from sniping you long distance)
no idea why, but it works.
LOL - Yea sorry about crashing into you Rocket, had too much lagg And now i gotta do all these changes again, re-installed windows. 
With the changes to stop the lagg. When I did them before i re-installed windows, all of them worked that I tried, except the pb_sleep500 it says something like: wrong syntex or something like that. Anyone have suggestions?

This is what I got from the SGS bandwidth thing. DSL512 IS account. I have an IS and SAIX account and both give problems.
I tried playing earlier today but it was impossible.
would zoom in on sniper rifle and it would automatically move me around and zoom out/in and go berserk.I have no spyware detected. No-one else was using net at the time. Now the latency seems stable if I ping locally but I am too frustrated to go back into BF2.

I have no spyware detected. No-one else was using net at the time. Now the latency seems stable if I ping locally but I am too frustrated to go back into BF2.
Thats pretty weird, I have a 384k line and its fine enough.
There must be somethign playing silly buggers somewhere.
Maybe try alt+tab out of the game when its in(and you are hiding somewhere safe!) and then check your task manager and see if there is summin running there, or get a decent firewall and dont let anything through that you dont think should run.
what Roc... and if its still not kosher, kill off MSN messenger and unneccessary browsers.
Again, try playing after 11 at night, see if it makes any difference. I know with mine, i normally lag on full servers before 11-12. I feel your pain about the irritation it causes... nothing gets you as much as constant lag.

Or if the lag is bad then we could always meet at the stick and have knife fights

^ LOL thanks guys. I re-installed XP, actually I downloaded this tinyXP edition and it works quite well. Lag still persists though in both BF2 and ETQW no matter what gfx settings.
More often than not it is a result of latency jumping up to 400-1000ms and sticking there for a while, then I am stuck in one place while I can clearly see someone run up to me and shoot me. Last night while playing late I had less of a problem.
Some of you might have seen me almost on the brink of smashing my Keyboard on ETQW yesterday it was me up against 6 guys as my whole team was lagging except me, think they were from overseas. But then I would get these lag spikes rendering me almost completely useless, would have been a really awesome fight though. I still managed to sneak around them and plant explosives but 1on1 fights were interrupted by the lag.

^hmmmmm. That got me thinking, because I can sometimes still see people run around normally while I freeze up and stutter...sometimes I say I haven't taken much notice. I will double check tonight, but if that is true does that not mean that maybe download is fine but upload is playing up?

Yeah its pretty possible thats the case, maybe you should try a more reliable bandwidth test one that measures up and down bandwidth
