LAG!!

The only reason I came here is because I first read the title as lag, as in afrikaans for laugh, only after did I realise it was lag. And whats fen?

My bro and I had the same probs last night :(

It was super annoying.

It's just getting worse. And I've just renewed my subscription by 60 days ... such a dumbass I am. I cannot even play the flipping game anymore.
It's like : click ... wait 2 seconds ... oooh ... action ... click ... wait 2 seconds ... ooooh ... action ... click ... wait wait wait wait ... aaarg ... sudden movement ... dead. DAMMIT!

What surprises me is just how lag-free it is when i'm dead.
 
I found this to be Either SA related or Server related. Last night for the first time in a while I had brilliant pings again. But would have DC like freezes from time to time.

I got a /w from Jase and he asked me if I'm having the same problem. I confirmed that I did. He uses ADSL and I use MTN. So it was not connection issue but something else, either the link to the servers from SA or the server we where on itself :confused:
 
I started using the Gamemax.org last night....and it is absolutely amazing! I played with a +-300ms latency the whole time through iBurst, I had one lag spike, but think that was network related, was back to the 300 range within 3 minutes. Normally getting 500-800.
 
All our probs were not really just latency related. We had about 6-7 lagg spikes causing you to pretty much get Dc'd. No response for 30-60sec. Sometimes we get booted, other times not. However, once we are resynced with the server latency shoots to 1500+
At one stage I had 10500!!

Twice we died because of it :/
I just hope things will be ok tonight.
 
Ran UT and Nex last night, we (whole group of Saffers) kept getting lag spikes. Same happened this afternoon.

Oddly though, no complaints note in general chat, so maybe SAIX?
 
I am getting lag spikes on my unshaped account, but my shaped account is working perfectly.
 
i assume there is some issue with unshapped then as im getting the same and pings are dropping packets again...*sigh* how i dream of having a stable and fast internet connection. How I dream that every South African can have access to fast reliable internet and not pay a fek load of money for useless and slow connections.

WTB decent internet nauw!
 
same. getting massive lagspikes every 10mins or so. shaped/unshaped/gamemax. its all the same and $%^@ me off now tbh
 
i spoke to a few people and apparently saix had an outage with one of there international links

An outage has been reported by SAIX with regards to connectivity issues for all ADSL users.
The technicians are currently investigating the issue; however no ETA has been given on when it will be resolved.

Been having quite bad lag the past 3 days as well on Openweb VPN. Another SA guildmate on Mweb hasn't complained lately so I thought it was just the VPN playing up again (which it is).
 
latency seems fine now was doing WSG and had latency of 220
 
You should see the saix okes dropping like flies on the local dota network. Pissing me off :(

Fen... thats from Farscape right?
 
Been mucho better since Saturday night. Only had the odd spike. I was actually logged in to wow for 11 hours straight o.O (some record I think)

Odd thing is, my brother is getting dc'd lots more often than me and we play on the same line...?
