He is actually running eth to the router, while I am wireless on my laptop. Could be graphics tbh (8600GT) he is experiencing some weird graphic anomalies from time to time, which never happened pre Northrend. These seem to correct themself when he alt+tabs to windows then back again. Very weird...

Im using an 8600GT in a mbp(macbook pro), the graphic anomalies can normally be resolved with vertical sync on, but then you are going have some frame drops
I think the new engine is a tad bit over the top, i find my gfx card burning alot hotter these days. Perhaps maybe a fault with the eth cable or it could be his network card going into power saving mode, or the tx rate is set to low
