According to other sources it's naturally filtered and then chlorinated before it's put into the reservoir. Surely there must be enough residual chlorine to counter whatever else gets deposited in the lake?

That sounds the wrong way round to me. Surely an expanse of water open to all kinds of polution needs to be purified just before sending the water to the end user?

It does sound a bit bass ackwards to me.

Mr Seater had been out drinking with friends when he decided to relieve himself in the open air reservoir at 1.30am.
