Lamb and mutton direct from the farm

Since I have recently been doing this more often, my uncle has asked me if there might be an interest for people to buy directly from the farmer. He used to have his own butchery but has recently scaled down a bit.

So this thread is just to gauge interest and if anyone is really interested in this they can PM me and I will provide you with his contact details. I am not sure (but I think) this is more exclusive to people in the Gauteng region / East Freestate. My uncle will ensure delivery (most likely personally if enough people want in), but this is something you can discuss directly.

The prices that has been discussed was the following:

R55 per kg for Lamb
R35 per kg for Mutton

If you want specific cuts I am pretty sure this can also be discussed.

Sorry to sound like a buzz kill on this one, but I hope by straight from the farm, you mean via the abattoir, as the are some health and safety issue, that could result from this?

As a farmer myself have you ever been to a abattoir.. you will think again. Rather buy from him.

Sorry I rather trust a farmer. When I can establish links to dairy, vegetable and meat farmers. Spar and PnP will hardly see me.

I too want 2013 prices in 2016.
 
Anyone one know the price of a weaned alive lamb?
 
This is a 3 year old thread. So prices would probably not be R55 a kilo for the lamb!

I wonder if OP's uncle still does this. No feedback here from the people who placed orders back in 2013.
If it's still ongoing, revised prices would be appreciated.
