New Lamborghini SC20 is 759bhp open-roof track weapon

Sant'Agata's racing arm creates one-off V12 speedster inspired by the firm's most outlandish models

Lamborghini has revealed the SC20, a unique 759bhp track car that can also be driven legally on the road.

The second of two one-off projects engineered by Lamborghini’s Squadra Corse racing arm, the SC20 combines styling cues from the Diablo VT Roadster, Aventador J, Veneno Roadster and Concept S, creating a “dramatic combination of creativity and racing attitude”, according to Lamborghini.

Other chief influences on the car include the Huracán GT3 Evo racer, which was the inspiration for the SC20’s pronounced front hood air intakes, and the Essenza SCV12, which has influenced the SC20’s sides.

The new track car, which was designed by Lamborghini’s Centro Stile design centre, is based around a carbonfibre body with a large adjustable carbonfibre rear wing able to be set in three positions: low, medium and ‘high load’.

Squadra Corse Reveal Open-Top Lamborghini SC20

Welcome the Lamborghini SC20, the second one-off engineered by the motorsport department and designed by Centro Stile in Sant’Agata Bolognese.

The car was created following the customer’s wishes, who was involved in the project from the very first drawings by Lamborghini’s designers with a common goal to build a unique vehicle, extreme in its design and performance, and able to combine aerodynamic solutions taken from racing.

“Two years after the SC18 Alston, the SC20 was a new, intriguing challenge. The chief sources of inspiration were the Diablo VT Roadster, Aventador J, Veneno Roadster and Concept S, and the result is a dramatic combination of creativity and racing attitude,” commented Mitja Borkert, Head of Design Lamborghini Centro Stile.

Much like the SC18 Alston, the naturally aspirated 6.5-litre engine has been dialed to a menacing 770 hp (574 kW) and 720 Nm (531 lb-ft) of torque matching that of the hardcore Aventador SVJ.

Hmm. Maybe look past it?

Tim is seriously knowledgeable & passionate af.

I respect that.

Yes book knowledge. He can rattle off specs of every car but cant even do an oil change.Zero knowledge on how to work on cars. But i guess it comes down to his posh up bringing.

Hmm that's pretty short sighted hey.

His driven an absolute ton & half of exotics (incl hypercars). Did many track days, events, launches, travelled the world etc. Has a full blown supercar collection.

Why does that all matter?

It means his able to give a (mostly) objective & comparative opinion on tons of high end machinery.

That's more than just "book smart" as you put it.

I reiterate, YMMV but the dude is no fly-by-night.

Lamborghini SC20 is a 566 kW one-off roadster ... and it’s road legal

Lamborghini Squadra Corse has revealed the SC20, a one-off model (sans windscreen!) described as an “open-top track car type-approved for road use”.

The SC20 arrives as the second one-off model engineered by the automaker’s motorsport department and designed by Centro Stile in Sant’Agata Bolognese.

Lamborghini says the vehicle was built for a special customer who was involved in the project “from the very first drawings”.

Seemingly based on the Aventador SVJ Roadster, the SC20 employs the same 6,5-litre naturally aspirated V12, delivering an unchanged 566 kW at 8 500 r/min and 720 N.m at 6 750 r/min via a seven-speed independent shifting rod gearbox.

All that grunt is directed to an all-wheel-drive system with a central electronic differential, while Pirelli PZero Corsa tyres are wrapped round single-nut aluminium rims measuring 20 inches fore and 21 inches aft.
