Lamborghini Urus SUV

I don't care what anyone says a Urus would be in my (hypothetical) 3 car garage.

I like everything about it.

correct , as you can still have 2 cool cars. The urus can be used as the daily workhorse while your 2 cool cars come out to play on the weekend.

Lamborghini Urus test mule previews updates for 2022

Winter testing begins as Sant'Agata's 650bhp super-SUV is prepared for a mid-life facelift

Lamborghini is preparing to update the Urus SUV for the first time since it was launched in 2018, and the first sighting of a prototype has given clues as to what to expect.

A thick layer of snow and heavy camouflaging make substantial styling tweaks difficult to spot, but the front air intake area looks to have been reshaped around the lower half and, more prominently, the leading lip of the bonnet and bumper have been reshaped.

The prototype's side panels look to be less aggressively sculpted than those of the current car, although this could be an intended effect of the camouflage wrap, and while the rear-end design looks to have been left untouched, we can expect a reshaped lower diffuser and new brake-light designs to feature.

Lamborghini Urus Facelift To Get 820 HP (611 KW) Hybrid Variant

Lamborghini is busy testing a mid-cycle refresh for the popular Urus and a new report from Car Magazine in the UK claims the camouflage will come off sometime in 2022.

The revised variant of the “Super SUV” is expected to bring an extension of the family as Sant’Agata Bolognese is allegedly planning a plug-in hybrid version and also a non-electrified Sport RS.

SA prices! Lamborghini Urus gets ‘Graphite’ and ‘Pearl’ treatment

Lamborghini has expanded its Urus range in South Africa by launching special new “Graphite Capsule” and “Pearl Capsule” derivatives.

How much will these fresh editions set you back? Well, thanks to on-the-ball vehicle information specialists duoporta.com, we know the Urus Pearl Capsule is priced from R4 385 000 (or R4 585 000 with the standard three-year driveplan upgraded to five years), while the Urus Graphite Capsule starts at R4 450 000 (or R4 650 000 with extended cover).

For the record, the “standard” (though we’re loath to employ such a term to refer to a veritable super-SUV) Urus comes in from R3 995 000.

So, what makes these new variants special? Well, the Urus Graphite Capsule can be specified in a choice of four fresh matte hues, with the lower parts of the vehicle around the front, rear and side sills all finished in the body colour. Four bright accent hues, meanwhile, are also offered, applied to the front splitter, door inserts and rear spoiler.

YouTuber Jumps His Lamborghini Urus Over His Lamborghini Aventador

The owner of the YouTube channel Street Speed 717 goes by the name of Michael Hyssong and the channel is clearly doing well with over 1 million subscribers and videos racking up as many as 4 million views.

Recently he found himself in hot water with the law after jumping his Ram TRX over a stream at the beginning of the year. The truck survived the jump but there could be some repercussions as the driver is facing no fewer than 18 counts since the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission was not happy about this stunt.

That particular video has been viewed nearly 2 million times so it must be turning him a nice profit. Hyssong clearly likes profit and to gain more views, he recently shared a video performing another jump this time with two machines from Sant’Agata Bolognese.

Opposite ends of the spectrum: Ford Puma ST vs Lamborghini Urus

Are sporty SUVs now mature enough that enthusiasts can enjoy them with no caveats - at any price?

Put all this to one side for a moment, however, and despite wildly different prices and performance, the Ford and the Lamborghini share the same capacity to entertain when you’re in the mood. More than that, they’re good enough that any praise no longer needs to be caveated with the words ‘for an SUV’. Along with cars such as the Cupra Formentor and Volkswagen T-Roc R, they prove that some quick SUVs have evolved (highly so in the Urus’s case) to the point that they can be mentioned in the same breath as more established practitioners of the fast car art.

Welcome to the family: living with a 641bhp Lamborghini Urus

Can a £200k Italian super-SUV - the Urus - take on the role of mundane domestic transport? A third national lockdown made us put this to the test

January was awful, wasn’t it? The darkest bit of night before the NHS’s brilliant vaccine-vectored slow dawn. For the Saunders family, however, one day that month was brightened immeasurably by the offer of a new Lamborghini. One to keep only for a while, granted, but still. I nearly dropped the phone in my morning cup of coffee.

I barely had to think before saying “yes please,” because, well, who wouldn’t? But what about the realities of life in Lockdown Three (‘The return of the weekday hangover’) with an especially conspicuous, Italian-registered Lamborghini Urus super-SUV to use for essential trips only? Well, I enjoyed it – I think. The family certainly did. But it would be the cause of plenty of mixed emotions along the way – so much so that I was actually a little bit relieved as well as sad when they eventually took it back.

Following that call, the car took only a few days to be delivered, from which point it duly brightened my driveway even more spectacularly than the mere idea of having it had brightened the previous Thursday. An Urus in Giallo Auge Solid, which overhung my rather modest (barely) off-street parking provision like a Matchbox car parked on an actual matchbox. Coming off the low-loader, it looked enormous. Hilarious, even.

But it was only funny for a minute or two, as the reality of what much of the proceeding 10 weeks threatened to be like gradually presented itself. The kids instantly wanted to take it somewhere – anywhere – but we weren’t supposed to and nowhere was open. The irony was almost comedic. We had at our disposal what might be the first Lamborghini in decades actually suited to high-octane family outings, yet we couldn’t even use it with the freedom that one might a 50cc scooter.

Mansory Urus Packs Properly Purple Interior

Hand your Lamborghini Urus over to the folks at Mansory and you will be in for a shock when they are finished with it. Be sure to tell them exactly what you want or you might end up getting something like this.

If inconspicuous is what you’re aiming for, then Mansory-tuned Urus isn’t what you’re looking for. In fact, the German tuner has made the opposite of that last year in the form of the Mansory Venatus.

Yes, it gives the SUV a lot more presence but this example from Qatar must be for someone who adores Barney the dinosaur.
