LAN for 2 PC's

Right, on Saturday I'm going to be networking 2 PC's together to play games on. I just want to make sure that I have the correct setup procedures.

Of course I will be using a Ethernet crossover cable. I then use the following on PC1 Local Area Connection

IP Address 192. 168. 1. 1.
Default Gateway 192. 168. 1. 2.


PC2

IP Address 192. 168. 1. 2.
Default gateway 192. 168. 1. 1.

If I'm wrong please correct me.

You can leave the gateway blank. Subnet should be 255.255.255.0

Messuga is right, you don't need the gateway if you're planning on gaming between the two PC's, but you do need that subnet he stated.
