Hi all, I am shopping for a new car. My criteria is simple, reliability. I need a hustle free car. My budget is 85k. I have shopped around and my choices have been streamed to the following;
1. 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0 gls with 110000 on rhe clock, two owners, Fsh with some mechanic.
2. 2010 i20 with 160000 on the clock. One lady owner, fsh with agent.
3. Honda Ballade 1.5 i-vtec elegance with 150000km, 2 owners. Service history with some mechanic.

All cars are 90000 and can go down to 85000

Well, by bew I mean new to me.

If you are set on those three your best bet would be the Honda, If it has a full service history from a RnA mechanic you will be fine

Lancer is a nice car but they are heavy on fuel and some years I believe had paint quality issues.
i20 is a bit of a boring drive, but the 1.6 is nippy when you put your foot down. The clutch can be heavy in traffic

I'd go for the Ballade out of that selection

I have gone around quite a bit. For this price range all I can find are duds. For me priority is q car that is well looked after and this short list is the best of all I have found.

Thanks, that helps. Looks like Honda is winning so far.

If you choose either of those cars take them to an AA Assessment Centre for a full check before signing any of the papers.

I have been burned before and after that have taken prospecting cars to them to check, even if you do buy a second hand car from a dealer

Go with the Honda. Stay away from Suzuki. They make great bikes but terrible cars - they fall apart after a few years.

I don't know which Ballade he is talking about but I think the latest Ballades were not Honda's finest works. I have heard a whole lot of stories.
