@lantic R59 uncapped 'bolt-on' feedback

I already have the 50GB Fat Pipe + uncapped bolton. Is there no way for me to upgrade my fatpipe to 75GB and still keep the bolton? As it is I'll have to keep buying a 75GB fat pipe around the end of each month, paying pro rata and getting like 15GB added on and then cancelling it immediately. They already billed me for a new 75GB fat pipe extra this month, even though it was cancelled.

This means I have to dial two accounts from Windows whenever the switch over happens, which I am not always able to do and my extra cap gets eaten into needlessly.

Is there no way to sort this out?

Your uncapped bolt-on is an addon and is billed separately so i see no reason why upgrading your 50GB --> 75GB would change / remove your bolt-on ? Voxy may reply to confirm this :).

My apologies for only getting back to you now. Voxy isn't immune to the flu virus it seems :)

Yuu is spot on, you can upgrade your Fat Pipe account without it affecting your Bolt-on package.

What's this I'm hearing about the Uncapped bolt-on no longer being available? I still see it on your website.

Yeah the gig4gig packages is shaped packages I think where the Fatpipe packages is premium unshaped bandwidth 24/7 so yeah not having the bolt on on fat pipe any more is a sad for new customer but understandable from vox's side.

That is great news. I have tried this though and they say it can't be done. Can you assist me in this regard if possible? Due to some mix-up, I currently have both a 50GB fat pipe + bolt-on and another 75GB fat pipe account active atm. The 75GB is due to be cancelled end of this month.

All I want is to have a single 75GB fat pipe + bolt on account with one set of logon details.

Your help would be greatly appreciated!


PS: Good luck with the flu! I am recovering as well at the moment from quite a bout of it.

These bolt on deals have been available for quite a while, but the reason I was always a bit worried was that there were issues where the switch-over between the bolt-on and the capped account doesn't always happen at the stroke of 6 and people''s caps were getting eaten into.

I am a bit worried atm in fact, because the usage given in the CP doesn't seem to be accurate. Last month it showed that I still had over 13GB left of the 50GB, but my internet died during the day and the guy told me that the 50GB was in fact depleted. Makes it difficult to plan your usage. It is a major schlep to have to try and organise bandwidth for the last week of a month only. That is how I ended up with an unwanted 75GB bolt-on and having to waste R252.

Oh and you can't reply to a customer care person directly if your email address is from Yahoo (and presumably some others) for some reason.

Yes I know I was the one who worked with cvanwie to have the bolt on fixed back in the day. I had the bolt on since launch and changed to the fat pipe when it was launched.

I think its actually fixed now so if you have some problems still then its something they should fix because my usage is accurate to the minute. Maybe if any a couple of megs short or extra but nothing major.

By setting the additional gigs to 0 it will help to prevent the extra charges but not sure if it works with fatpipe.

Cool, thx. In the end I might just move to Gig for Gig with bolt on and then the 75GB fat pipe if they aren't able to fix it the way I am hoping. Will then just keep dialling from Windows.

As far as the internet itself goes: absolute bliss! :)
