Lapto to tv via hdmi problem

Good day

I am having problems connecting my laptop's ati 5730 to my telefunken 32" lcd tv. The is displaying no signal when thr cable is plugged into any of the three hdmi slots. Any help with this? I also have no idea where the manual is as the tv was a gift from the inlaws.

Did you test the HDMI ports with a Blu ray player or DVD as well?
Im thinking you might have a problem with the laptops HDMI port - maybe update the drivers or something lik ethat?

Same problem when using my pc and i tried a diffrent hdmi cable. Will test it this weekend with the ps3

Did you choose the right source on your TV? The pc one is not for hdmi so would give that problem if it is that so you have to choose the one which says HDMI.

Some laptops don't output to HDMI or VGA by default. So you will have to use a keystroke of some sort to switch it on

On mine its Fn + F5 . will switch from internal display to external, then both, then back to internal

Check yr driver settings also, there is an Intel utility to do that if you have Intel graphics card, which is the most common
