Hi Guys

So my laptop hd crashed this afternoon, laptop wouldn't restart and tried running diagnostics from the setup menu and the drive tests all fail. I have quit abit of info that I haven't backed up for the last three months... is there any way I can recover the info?

TIA

Crash can mean many things. Is it dead? Did the heads slam into the platter? Does it start up but not respond? Does it fail to read the partition info? Only way to know for sure is to take it out and test somewhere else.

I put it in another laptop(working one) and when it boots up it goes into auto recover mode and scans the drive, once scan done it just doesn't do anything else, laptop just hangs...

Doesn't say anything. Could be doing that for many reasons. Only way to know is install it as a secondary drive and see if low level tools like Tiny Hexer can read data from it.
