This drive comes out of a 3.5 year old Compaq laptop... it is waaaay past its warranty life-line. These OEM Seagates only had a 1 year warranty back then... kinda like now
The only value it has now would be to someone like you South_Bit... I am almost 100% certain you can have the drive... I will ask tomorrow and let you know.

... I just repartitioned it and left the the chirping 30GBs unpartitioned... and it is quiet now... but I have warned against using it.
