Hey guys, I brought this laptop and just wondering if I got ripped off or not.
Spec:
AMD 1.8Ghz 3400+
1gig ram
100gig 5400rpm hdd
14" monitor
Wireless, bluetooth, card reader, 56k modem, lan
ATI X300 shared 128megs max
2.3kg
4hour battery

R7600 incl. vat

Very good price IMO, especially being an HP. Does it have the full HP warranty though?

Pretty good price but why do you ask AFTER you buy it? lol

Just out of interest sake, can you give a model number, because that looks a very high spec for that price. HP don't normally dish out 100GB on mid range laptops. And a gig of RAM, but only a 14" screen, with shared graphics, sounds a bit unusual. You also mention a 2607 at the top of the thread, and HP don't have a 2600 range as far as I'm aware.

Yeah 3 years warranty~
Well here, if u can show them that they're over prices, they'll pay u the difference back :p

Its the Hp-compaq V2607
was 512megs of ram but i asked for another 512
the 100gig was with it already~

Personally, I'd be a little worried about warranty from a SA perspective, as HP are tough on that. Not a locally supported product, not their problem. Check with HP while it's early days as this may bite you later. For the spec, and knowing the HP/Compaq battery quality, I'd say you scored alright there. Pricing may be a little high, but it depends on whether YOU paid locally, or international, because I see them listed at around $800, which is not R7600 on exchange. But you did get the RAM upgrade. And if someone brought it in for you, then they have transport costs etc to cover, so it appears a fair price.

Just check the warranty support here in SA on Compaq branded HP's!

Err nope this is common for smaller (14") notebooks.
