Found this www.laptopscreen.com & 50% cheaper than local with shipping included by courier.
But bit sceptical of ordering, anyone used them or the others listed above?

Laptopland can help but are pricey. There seems to be many cheap stores online(US, EU, Asia) but I am also sceptical to order from any of them. What make & model are you looking for?

I've purchased stuff from spl a few times before. Both are legit.

lol, they're so bad with email they even tell you to rather fax than email proof of payment. otherwise they're ok & you get the part quite quickly if they have it in stock.

The stuff I got from spl were smaller/cheaper items for laptops where it was needed like yesterday!

Rather call them directly. Ask to either speak to Pamela or Bongi - do not deal with Patience if you still want colour in your hair. I order stuff from them on an almost daily basis, and they're efficient so long as you specifiy that you need the item soon. They deliver by RAM, so once the proof of payment is sent, they deliver within two working days. Remember to specify that you need a delivery charge added to the quotation.

You'll also need to strip down the laptop's chassis lid and find the model number of the screen. You have to let them know which side of the motherboard the LCD connector is situated - very often you'll have the same model screens, but with different revisions and cable positioning.

Laptop accessories also does keyboards, batteries, and often chassis parts. They're way cheaper than SPL - with regards to SPL, try to go through to the Cape Town branch - they're a much brighter and nicer bunch.

Laptop Accessories are cheaper than Laptopland also, but not by much. Was twice quoted <R50 less than Laptopland for screens :-(

Importing is cheaper. Fact. Not always easier but still cheaper.

I have used laptopaccessories before when my dad punched a hole through his laptop screen. A little tough to communicate if you dislike sitting on the phone.

Otherwise their prices are decent and service isn't THAT bad.
