Laptop screen pixel streaks

Hi Folks...

Some feedback would be much appreciated.

Family member has Samsung notebook (+-3 years old) that has suddenly developed the following black/green pixel streak on its screen;



I have checked the flex cable connection and it is tight and not the culprit.

What would be the cause of this sudden appearance and is it something to be overtly concerned about requiring a new screen?

All feedback as always very much welcomed.

Couple of weeks ago one of the managers, who leaves an eraser in his laptop to prevent the screen from closing and shutting down, took his laptop home like that.

Chucked in the boot, enough pressure and the screen cracked similar. Dell came out a few days later to replace out of warranty.

Replace screen, use laptop with external monitor, or donate. I am afraid, nothing you can do.

I suspect it has been knocked or squeezed, but it just appeared one morning apparently... and has now streaked down the screen.

In the past screen anomalies such as vertical lines etc. have been wonky flex cables or connectors usually.

I was just interested if any others had experienced something like this display.
