What is the largest local-only ADSL account I can get? 30GB is not enough - anyone got anything bigger?

What about buying 2 or 3 or 4 30GB's or an uncapped account?

I was thinking maybe 8 possibly 9 30gb accounts.

Very funny smartasses. :P I don't feel like swapping accounts.

You can also try Axxess for there new Local Only SAIX accounts.

The only local accounts worth looking at are the IS ones. And those accounts are max 30GB, and cannot be "topped" up. So you will need more than one.

/laughs until sides split.

Axxess:
30Gb ADSL(Local Only) R 750.00 *

OpenWeb (IS based).
30 GB = R139.

AND - wait for it, if he needs more than one, the Axxess price will be R1500 for 60GB and then he may as well get IS uncapped @R1350 and get unlimited international as well.

It's actually better to get multiple accounts, because 99% of the time you get to go over your cap a bit. So you'll basically get more GIGs out of multiple accounts and one large one at the end of the day.

Looks like 30GB accounts it is. Thanks for the info.

on 384K link you can do max about 90Gb a month @ 40-42Kbs (going to battle getting more)
So that will be 3x 30Gb IS acounts (2/30Gb webafrica @ R182 each)

R182 is too expensive!!

I pay R139 for a 30GB local only Openweb account.

Welcome to the forum. Do a search for "news server".

Have fun with the results :D

(and I and others here routinely do 30GB+ a month)

IS news servers. 30GB=R139.

If you're on SAIX then you're gonna have to fork out close to R2k to get the same 30GB of bandwidth (local or international doesn't matter because you get hardcapped which effectively places local bandwidth at the same price as international bandwidth).

thanks

ok, i did some looking around... looks like I have been missin out here! From what I can gather I need some kind of IS account to be able to log onto the IS news server. Thing is, im pretty much confused... so please be patient :o

I have an XSINET account, so this means I have to get an additional IS account??? Well, what I have done is gone and downloaded this grabit program and then Ill do some reading when I get home. Obviously this is not all common knowledge, so its kinda hard putting all the bits together. So some advice on how to go about this all would be greatly apprecaited.. seriously!

if you isp gets it bandwidth from IS then you have an is account, there's no logging in or anything like that for the IS news server

CunderT
Need IS account. (it those 3/30Gb accounts) See WebAfrica / Openweb. (+- R140-182pm)
Download Grabit (download from newsserver), Quickpar (handeling/repairing par files), 7Zip (Unzip program).
news server adress: news.is.co.za

http://www.binsearch.info/ (to search for files to download.)

P.s. search for is news server on the forums, should be LOADS of info.
