Hi there. Can anyone tell me where they do laser ablations in Durban. It's for a someone with a breast tumor.

Sorry for the seemingly late response. My sister had a mammogram done. Was theses benign fribroadenoma's ( hope that spelled right). Was advised to remove them via surgery. Googled, the subject, came across this procedure, and will be talking to the doc, on next visit. But will like to know the places where it is done. Thank you.

How big are the fibroadenomas? Are they increasing in size? What is the age of the patient? Is there a family history of breast/prostate cancer? Could she afford to go overseas for the laser ablation treatment? Maybe you should get a second opinion because breast surgeries/biopsies can leave nasty scars so she shouldn't rush into doing something that she might regret later.

Thank you for your concern. Oversea's is not possible. My sister went to the doctor after I had posted this, but she has not told me anything about this laser ablation I've read on the internet. She also does not want me o research this, since she feels she can live with it. I do not know if she asked or not, when I see her I will verify. The fibroadenoma's are about 3cm on the left breast. In the mammogram, they appear as hollow spaces, or something, surrounded by tissue. The patient is over 40 years, and we have no history of cancer in the family. She did mention, to me, that the doctor recommends surgery above anything else, since this thing can become cancerous. IAt the moment, work seems to be more important, that is why it was quite difficult to get her to go sort this thing out, however, more than likely, its going to be surgery. Again, thank you for your interest.
