Latency fix , might work for some might not

I tried that and didnt see much improvement but will test it some more i guess

it works for some people, some it does not. i have also noticed it does not work so well with wireless connections or wireless cards, least that has been my experience.

Vista users, remember that windows reverse this fix over time so you may have to apply it again and again ;)
Somehow I forgot to reactivate mine and when I saw this post I remembered and its now active again. Decent enough improvement of about 100ms :D

I have tried a few tunneling or proxy servers as well the last week and none of them showed promise :(

Started DC'ing right from the beginning of Northrend Beasts encounter last night. Must have tried 15 times to log back on, but was only able to do so after Icehowl was lying in a heap, dead. I decided to leave the raid.

Implemented this afterwards and upon first glance it looked a bit better, but will have to do some long term testing.

For some reason the lag was terribad for me.

Will provide some feedback in a couple of weeks.

@ Aegina - I have the exact same problem as you... frustrating as hell... I cannot solve it. If you find something pls let me know as well !

I am using unshaped webafrica 2mbit line and my latency was perfect last night:) i suggest you check the us/ds margins on your telephone lines, there could be to much noise on it

I also have a WEBAfrica unshaped account, and normally it's fine. How can I check us/ds margins, or do I need to get a technician out?

PS. I blame Wednesdays ;)

Had to switch to Saix last night since Verixon had some line issues. But no problems after the switch.

login into your router, you should be able to check it in the status tab under modem.

Latency was about 500-550ms before, and dropped to between 200-300ms!
N1:D

Ok so last night after patching I kept getting disconnected and then I get the message "Login Server Down" when trying to log in. Did the reverse patch and still got disconnected so dunno if this was related.

Exact same problem. Got back for the PvP event...same thing happened, and I also had to leave the raid. Getting desparate so will try this as well.

Last night problems were this time on the Saix connection :O 450ms ping mostly but jumped up to 750 and the inevitable DC followed.
Switched to Verizon and latency dropped to 350ish with no further problems for the remainder of the evening.
Hate this Saix-Verizon jumping about though, hoping they fix it soon!

yep werries i can confirm that aswell, was getting exactly the same problem, then switched to verizon and no issues.

they wont fix it because they dont care, you tell webafrica they just want tracroutes all the time which they reply its ok there is no issues with saix, Are you sure its not your telephone line, let us log a fault, fk off....

Well did ToC 25man last night and i usually dc on the 1st dude with the kobos and I just dc'd once but could log back in after that no dcs. Even with the Faction champions chaos :o

Though its still around 450-600ms...man gief sub 300ms :<

I use an unshaped Web Africa account on Verizon and after applying this patch my lag is down to just over 200ms from 500ms...

I can actually play BGs now.

I applied this patch on Friday night. My normal ping is anything from 500-600, spiking to 700+ in Dalaran.

My ping is a consistant 250 now. This will max at 350 in 10 mans or Dalaran.

I also only have good things to say since I ran this exact same patch and boom. Very nice latency. I could actually move out of shyt in time without getting damaged :D

I am kinda shocked there are so many WoW forumites that have been here for years, yet they never ran this patch.

This is not something thats new, its been out there for years, and also we have been discussing this for yonks !!
