Latency fix , might work for some might not

I am kinda shocked there are so many WoW forumites that have been here for years, yet they never ran this patch.

This is not something thats new, its been out there for years, and also we have been discussing this for yonks !!

Correct, but it was never this easy :p

The others you had to do manually so I never bothered. This I downloaded, ran it and rebooted :o

Ive tried it in the past and it made no difference, running Vista.

I'm trying to figure out which is better for PVP, Gamemax or just this patch.

Anything above 300ms will not work.

Well I have never done the registry patches manually...
I just ran the .vbs scripts which is posted everywhere.

As for registry fix vs proxy... I use both. Its better using both since its got to do with the manner your pc responds to tcp packets from the server (proxy).

256 / 280 ms if I use both... If I just use the registry fix around 350 / 380 ms.

I'm hitting 220-280ms now, depending (I assume) on the amount of people on the IS network at the time.

I haven't done the patch and use only Gamemax. I've actually heard that the patch could cause some issues, therefore I have been hesitant to try it again.

If sub 300ms latency was attainable without the proxy, that would be a different story - maybe the WG disconnection problem would go away :P

Started DC'ing right from the beginning of Northrend Beasts encounter last night. Must have tried 15 times to log back on, but was only able to do so after Icehowl was lying in a heap, dead. I decided to leave the raid.

Implemented this afterwards and upon first glance it looked a bit better, but will have to do some long term testing.

For some reason the lag was terribad for me.

Will provide some feedback in a couple of weeks.

Ok I have been digging around trying to figure out why this is happening, and its pretty common.

It seems it's more common with people running the default UI. From some people that have managed to run with debuggers in the background, they stated there was "an unhandled error" being generated when the encounter started... If your pc is powerfull enough to work its way through the errors + damage bursts from the combat log / encounter start, you can make it through without dc'ing. As soon as your pc runs behind in processing the massive burst of data processing, the client DC's.

Can any of you suggest a good tunelling proxy I can use. My ping is sitting around 700MS for a few days now!

Edit: I'm on Anachronos EU by the way!
