Hey Guy/Gals

Im a WoW player and was wondering if there are any free Latency reduction tools like Battleping.
Or even if there is a trial i can test with till i decide if its worth using or not.
And which is the best to use if i am to pay for it.

Hmmm well. As soon as i used reducethelag my WoW account was locked for suspicious activity. Any reason why?

Iguess hackers and gold farmers like the 30 day trial work around too. And ya'll are sharing the same IP

Need to contact Blizzard to sort your account out again.

To fix your latency there are plenty of posts here on the forum, but without more detail on your connection and ISP it is not easy to give you any guidance.
Webafrica as ISP using nothing else have given me latency as low as 200ms the last couple of weeks. More than acceptable to me, only way I am going to reduce it is to move closer to the server ;)

Been using Lowerping for years now, they have a trial thingy where you just get disconnected every 30 minutes.
Also you use your own IP address when you use Lowerping, so you wont be sharing an IP with gold sellers/botters/etc.

Problem with that is consistency. WA just loves ****ing around with settings that destroy's your WoW experience and then when you say there's something wrong it takes quite a lot of convincing (and several "engineers") to figure out what changed to "tweak" it again. MWEB Uncapped isn't bad at all and I get a solid 280ms on there

Bad experience from your side I guess. My connection seems to be pretty stable, Average latency 230ms and max I have seen the last week was 320ms. Been on WA for the last 4 years, and any issues I have had was on Telkom side. Even those have been resolved within 24hours. Staying in a small town does have some advantages...

I hated reducethelag. I get better latency without it. like 400-500ms better latency. use the leatrix latency fix, should work fine with any isp (except apparently iburst) and any speed line

Blizzard tracks where you "log in" /tracks what IP you are logging in from. When you use a proxy server it is rerouting your login to an "off site" location, this is to reduce the lag. So instead of 192.168.x.xx which would be your normal IP it is using 10.0.x.xx which is the proxy server. It’s nothing to do with gold farmers. I have had this issue many times just from logging in from SA then going on vacation to Italy/US.

I hope this helps

Huh. I dunno about that
Hackers use the proxies to hide their IPs and hack accounts. Blizzard pick up the IP and suspened any account that uses the proxies IPs

Also the EULA states that you are not allowed to tunnel ur connection and that ur own IP range must be used

true, but they do allow it, and no-one has been perma-banned for 2 reasons. which are basically one reason
