Anyone else having very high pings tonight.
Mweb to Saix +- 145
Saix To Saix ( Telkom ) +- 75

Its not the first time its happened either in the last week.

Yea, I usually get 39m on speedtest.net and tonight its between 149ms and 380ms

It was horrible last night. I played for about 2 hours and then gave up. Mweb is advertising their uncapped accounts is good for gaming. Anyone care to log a complaint with the ASA?

It is not just an mweb problem though, most IS accounts are suffering. I am sure they will it though.

We are aware of the situation and are investigating.

What effect does downloading or uploading have on the ping times? The reason I ask is that, while uploading a PDF to our server in CPT, the ping rate when up to 2000ms. Now the upload is complete, the ping is back to 70ms.

If you are doing many things at once on a line with limited capacity, the ping times will increase. (I only test ping times when no other tasks are running)

I was referring to ping times across a particular network from MWeb to SAIX (Telkom), and wondering if any other MWeb users have noticed slow performance on local (SA) based sites?

National latency

Hi All,

National latencies should now be restored to normal levels.

MWB.
