Latest available OS

AntiThesis, so far mine has been very stable and it defnately has been worth the upgrade. There is a few upgrades on the menus and so on and couple of other stuff that has changed.

Anyone else Upgraded their 8520 to OS 5? I'm kinda toying with the idea but want to know if it's worth it at this point.
I've been running .348 for a couple of weeks and have nothing bad to report. Battery seems to last longer, some nice tweaks like scrolling through photos and so on. The whole upgrade process only takes about 20 mins so I'd say it's worth it. I think this is pretty close to the release version.

I'm also on the latest os5 and love it. Well worth trying it.

the say sometimes xmas does come early: :D
LEAKED: 5.0.0.411 for Blackberry Bold 9000, Curve 8900 AND 8520!!! AND OS 5.0.0.415 Leaked for the Blackberry Bold 9700!

Why can I not resist? I am downloading .411 in the hope that it is stable. I think this is the 5th or 6th V5.x that I am attempting *knocks head on wall* :)

The link for the Bold 9000 download is a bit dodgy. Downloads 160 odd MB, but the file is corrupt. Will look for another download link.

I tried downloading for the bold, but after it reached 98%, it failed - how tragic. Anyway I going to try again today and looking forward to moving up successfully. The download size was 117Mb, not 160mb - or am i downloading the wrong one?

ok guys please help. My fathers Bberry curve 8520 wont switch on. Whenever we try to charge it, it shows a battery with a red line across it. then nothing happens no matter if we pull out the battery and put it back in. what can i do to fix this?

Been using .411 for a while and been suffering with available memory. Within a couple of hours of a battery pull the available memory drops from approx 20 meg to around 9 meg. And thats without too much use either, maybe browsing a bit and messaging of course.
Was wonering if any other Bold users who have upgraded have been experiencing similar issues?

Hi there,

I'm on MTN. Had same problem with memory. On the third day got a white screen with app error message. Had to do a wipe and now I'm back to 4.6.0.411

Actually followed some forum advice to stop memory leaks including updating one or two of my programs and everything seems to be fine on the memory front now.
A new problem that's emerged is the fact that when the phone starts up in the morning it doesn't seem to be able to connect to the BIS. No matter what I do, switch off all connections & restart them or even running connection diagnostics, only a battery pull will reconnect the BIS connection. This is a bit of a pain. Anyone else had issues?
I'm using a Bold with Os 5.0.0.411.....

I had a similar issue on my 8520 running 5.0.0.411. Every time I canme out of bedside mode or the device started after auto on/off, my BIS was disconnected and I had to re-register, resend service books and do a battery pull. I eventually got tired if it and went back to .348. Battery life is better on .411 but as far as I'm concerned, the rest is more or less the same.

Try googling for it. I had the same BIS issue with 411 on my Bold. I usually turned all connections of and then on, BIS would return after a few seconds. My Bold is in repairs so I can't comment on the newer OS's.
