Latest available OS

I have just upgraded to 448. Was kinda hoping they would have sorted the cursor issue in BBM. Have not noticed any apparent changes from 424 to 448. :-)

I heard that the 9300, 9105 might be able to upgrade to 6.1 when it comes out. It is a very big maybe...but a maybe regardless. :-)

no problem with me airwolf
what network you on?
i have a problem with mp4 files on my 9700 on 448
using hybrids

I have just upgraded to 448 nd BBM seems very slow, get the clock and does nothing, also no cursor in BBM, my ver 5 had the cursor.
Main thing is BBM being so slow.
Im on Vodacom contract,
anyone else having this problem? If so do you know why?

BBM pretty fast on my side, the cursor however was hidden in OS5 intentionally, to see it just hit shift.

Nah....gonna stick with my current version me thinks. I am tired of updating my phone now....call me when there is a big difference in the updated version :-)

Thanks Cranial :-)

What is the best current OS for the Torch? The one I am using seems to bug a little in BBM (Screen goes fuzzy when going to or coming out of the smilies) and a few other niggles.

Oh great! Can you use a BB as a wifi hotspot now? :p

That's not an OS function, would not hold my breath for it either.
There are working 3rd party apps, I been testing webproxy, works very well and only cost about R60. Just the 3G a bit spotty in my room.

OS6 for 9700

I dl the latest official release for OS6 on the 9700 (from UK). Anyone found it to be choppy when opening and closing apps? Not as smooth compared to my OS5.
Need to get used to the menu though.

Does anyone have a quick link to a comprehensive review of OS6?

I'm running (v.6.0.0.448) not official version. I am extremely impressed with the battery life from one day now to just over two days.

really? I didn't really notice much difference on the battery life. Probably the same as my OS5. Perhaps I yak too much :)

Anyone got Opera mini to work smoothly on the OS6 .448 build? The scrolling is very jerky. The BB browser is much improved compared to the one on OS5.

Forget to add that OS6 takes up lots of memory as the BB browser tells me to shutdown as there is not enough memory! Bummer!

448 still has memory leaks and does use a lot of mem but i never experienced that, since 424 though i been using shrink-os so i stripped out all the extra junk, cut it down by half.
Using 461 now and the memory leaks are completely solved, on 448 i used about 60-80mb memory, 461 i use 10-20mb.

Does 461 have visual voicemail?

No idea, if it does I don't know where it is, never used it so never looked for it. To be honest I am not even sure what it is but I am assuming its something to do with video calling which the 9300 does not have.

PS there is an updated leak for the pearl. Here is a direct link

Its an email like message box to store voicemails, works well with all the other OS leaks...
The icon has an envelope with a recording old VHS icon in front
