Latest Mywireless performances

Strange, although my tests were single threaded (i.e. wget and Firefox) . Just checked a intl Getright d/l (4 threads) , and it behaves same as single thread (60secs before throttle). City/Tower ?

Luke7777, the 256 package is definitely on a 60sec throttle. Just did another 5MB test and after 1800K (60 sec exactly) it dropped to around 8.5K/sec. At least things are slowly getting better.

RPM, how will this effect the new speed tests. Perfect timing dont u think? New throttle just intime to improve "stats" even though on a 5MB file they are totally thrown off. Never mind downloading a linux CD image.

Any chance of having a standard test for ADSL / iburst / 3G users and then a larger download for Sentech users?

JayT, thanks for the confirmation. Gooku, don't know how you manage to get to 3mb on 128K before throttling. Can you check elapsed time ? Or *maybe* ST has you registered as a 512 user :D

I will do some more testing ,When I receive the testing software for Mybroadband's comparative tests.

But the cap seems has been relaxed,to what extend still has to be determined.

O/T: Am I the only one that detects slight attitude here?

My international speed seems to be going just fine, with sentech automatically stop-starting the 300k or so threads.

Slight attitude doesn't bother us, 'cause we have *lots* of it :D Just check that throttle limit of yours. If you're on 128, should be higher

hmmm, ran my wget (cache off) test :

Came down at full speed, hit the 60 sec mark, dropped to 5.1 - 5.6 for about 30 sec, at then picked up to close to full speed again  Will have to keep an evil eye on this :)

Update1 :
same test twice, came down at full speed, hit the 60 sec mark, dropped to 5.1 - 5.6 and stayed there for the remainder

Update2 :
same test, came down at full speed, hit the 90 sec mark, dropped to 5.1 - 5.6 and stayed there for the remainder

Conclusion : whatever  :D

FYI, not that this has much accuracy due to the 4.5 k cap (after an effective 700k in my case):

Is it just me thats getting REALLY cr@p performances of late?
Last night I witnissed my own LOCAL download getting slowed down after 20secs (im on 128k) and pings have increased by an average of 200ms.

im connected to durban north tower - 60

nope, not only you. Every since they decided to share the "spare" bandwidth, it seems they've taken the little we had and made it even less.

My speed results clearly show this. I havent been home using my connection at all today and my speed range is from 59kbps to 169kbps. DNS has also gone through the roof.

Something seems to have gone seriously downhill today? Has the burst effect been disabled now? Or just how long must the connection be idle before it will burst again nowdays? stuck on 5kB/s now.

Pings are fluctuating a lot more now, but minimum seems to be the same.
