Hi Guys just want to know the latest patch now has partial 2 which is 25MB is that correct and y is Blizzard doing it in partials and not the full patch at 1?
 
I would assume that the first 250 mb's is the Sunwell data. The smaller patches would be the bugs fixed from the PTR ???
 
Just got the last of it down. Chances of the patch being applied on Weds the 25th?

According to the latest MMO-Champion.com post, 2.4 will be out tomorrow

Seeing as nobody is actually answering your question, allow me to:

Blizzard usually breaks up the download of the patch in several smaller parts and "pre-releases" these before the actual patch date.

This allows people to download the patch and have it on hand immediately instead of waiting x hours (or minutes, depending on your internet connection, which I assume hours) before you'll be able to play again.
 
Thanx Razor. I assume that we have to wait for the last patch before we can install it because I the guys playing overseas have already got and installed the latest patch very strange though that we have it only in partials
 
Sjoe....lag city on Twilight's Hammer tomorrow then.. VR and Gruul going to be fun with unpredictable lag spikes.....luvverly.

Imo, the point of pre-releasing the patches, significantly decreases the bottleneck of 10mil players franctically trying to get the patch on patch day
 
EDIT thats the full patch (900mb)

Doesn't your backgrounddownloader.exe work?
 
Now I only want to download the patch on one machine and then copy it to my other, will I find a whole patch file to copy when the partials are all downloaded?

You only have to have an account if you want to use their Max speed servers (which obviously are much quicker than the mirrors). I've also got the patch on "reserve", Basically as soon as its released my PC will start the download right away from them.

A FilePlanet 2 year subscription is $69.95 , or $6.95 monthly.
Its not too bad really. I mainly have the account for BETA access to most new games. The patch downloading from high speed servers is a bonus
 
My WoW USA installation just upgraded to 2.4.

According to the BGDownloader, it was all in all 261megs. So not a biggie.
