I bought that exact same model from Makro about a month ago to cut up a tree that the wind blew over.
I was really impressed with it. I went around the yard finding branches to chop off.

Oh yes very much. It sliced through really thick branches with ease.
My only complaint would be about the lubricating oil use. It has a reservoir that you fill up and it keeps the chain lubricated. It was quite thirsty. I'm a chainsaw noob so perhaps that was normal.

I went to Makro today to look at the various options but the queue was ridiculous. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to head back there.

+1 - up there with best garden tools I've ever purchased.
Just clean it out after use and keep the chain properly tensioned, and it should give good service. Its like the little chainsaw that could.
Only negative is that it can get quite "akward" after a bit of use - it is deceptively heavy. (But nothing a few trips to the gym shouldn't fix

Edit: Mine also chows the oil - so guess it is normal.

Completely normal for those electric chainsaws.
I cut a ton of stuff down today and had to refill mine 3 times.
You can buy a 1l bottle of the oil for pretty cheap from builders.

I realise what you're trying to suggest and I agree - why would I need to go to the gym when I carry a camera all day that probably weighs more - valid point.bwana? Yeah, right!
