Lawnmower recommendation

I take it you were the one operating it?
These days yes. It is part of my fitness programme. In the past, no. It has been used and abused by many, including me!

I have been known to use it as "ground leveller". Take the grass catcher off and have a go at a ground patch that needs levelling. Works like a charm, but the operator looks like an elephant after a sand bath.

If you are in the Joburg / Randburg area visit Honeydew Lawnmowers. The have the whole range from tiny garden size to commercial ride on mowers. They service well, are well priced and most importantly are honest with their advice. Their prices are really good. A good quality extension cord is about 30 % cheaper than other places. My gardener mows them regularly!

I bought an electric mower in 1976. Magnum was the brand. It is still going now in 2020. ONE cut cord incident in all these years.
It is about training and that is all. Blades replaced every three years, sharpened every year at end of season.
I've got a petrol Briggs I've had for ages. Looks like shiit now but it cuts.

Stay the hell away from anything with Ryobi in it.

I bought a Ryobi trimmer and Lawn Mower

They both work but the build quality is rubbish. The lawn mower only starts in “run” if you push the lever to “start” to and try to start it switches off lol. It’s like they labeled it wrong. The grass basket falls apart every time so I’ve now super-glued it together. It’s working but yeah… I’m almost certain something else will break soon…

My lawn mower started puking it's insides out of the carb after 20 minutes. Still fighting the twats for a refund.

The capacitor on the motor is showing signs of needing replacement and the auto trip now kicks in after 45 minutes of continuous cutting. FEMCO motor 1800W
The wheels have been replaced once. The grass catcher once. The power handle switch once. The cord is 30 m long. Still original with the one joint.
Looks battered but still functional.
You wouldn't happen to know what capacitor size is used on this motor? I have one that I want to reuse to power a wood planer for a DIY shavings machine.
