lcd advice

looking at getting this lcd, as price is good what does everybody think??

any other recommendations....

17" Wide LCD at 1280x1024 ( a non wide res )? Sounds pretty much like an eyesore

Gosh, that's a little small as well..

Get some binoculars with it.

Even 1280x900 would be pretty squished,can't imagine it working for higher resses

I'm not a fan of square monitors.
If I were you, I'd invest another few hundred and get a 19" wide instead. Thats if your budget allows

Funny thing is that screen is supposed to be a 17" Wide

Honestly I would waste my money - few hundred more, ok a grand more but you can get a 22" - cant compare.

i need to get them a monitor and was thinking that a 17" is more than enough, the higher the resolution the smaller the fonts ect, and when ur old thats not a good thing,

i dont want to spend more than R1500 and im in jhb.

Find out pricing on a 933SN, it's an 18.5" widescreen.
5MS, 15'000:1. I'm not 100% sure what the res is... some places say 1360x768, others say 1440x900.

PCZone has em for R1299 so I imagine you could probably get it somewhere in JHB for R1500 or under

Yup that's a good one.
Are you after a matt or gloss screen? Cos this is a matt afaik

CONTRAST RATIO IS POOR
MAYBE LOOK AT THE ACER V193HQ
