Anyone know when shops will be bringing out their 'clearance sales' for their lcd's/led's and/or plasmas? If u come across something, please post here! Am keeping all options open :)
 
Dude, seriously ;-) yes another thread... Last 1 was good! Loads of people spotting specials across the country. Game, dionw, makro, hificorp, stax, hirschs, catsdigital, house n home, audio vision. Good to keep all in the loop ! :-)
 
Usually they call to confirm the id. My bro ordered 1 last year. They called him day after to check his license

I bought a 51D550 from them last week. I went to their Centurion store, they have three physical stores.

Apparently one of the best the d550's. I got the 40-d550.. Am more than happy, but am looking at "guzzling" for a fhd plasma! Trying to keep all products Samsung in my house.. From fridge, to washing machine.. To hts and tv's :)

Tell me, anyone have opinions re: passive 3d ? I tried the Samsung 3d vs. lg. found the lg better IMO.... But trying to stay clear of changing my trusted brand ;-)

Suppose it can't do harm, just need to wait for a good price to slide along
 
No offense.. but the one thing (if you have the money) that you don't want to keep to a single brand is your HTS (assuming you're talking Home Theatre System).... there are MUCH better offerings out there like Onkyo or Marantz... and you'll thank yourself for spending the bit extra.

Well that should be quite obvious from the 51" size as well as the link I posted ;)

My flatmate had a 40" C530 LCD, but he moved out and I bought the 51" plasma. I must say it is huge improvement overall, but especially with SD content and Sport!!!

With HD content I would rate them more or less equal.

Can't see any link on Tapatalk. Personally prefer using the usual LA, UA and PS prefixes for the benefit of others as when someone sees D550 they might not know whether LCD or plasma. Anyway.

Nice one on your friend being able to compare vs 5 Series entry LCD. 4 Series plasma also beats 5 Series LCD at PQ in the right room (without taking resolution into account ;)).

I know there's better! But I like to find a fine balance between 'extenal' look and quality.. I scouted around for home theatre systems, but they were bulky and not the best looking. Unfortunately they are THE BEst quality, but when looking an listening to the Samsung hts 5500 I think I got? Can't remember 100% on model nr, it was good imo for my purpose.

Fair enough..

As always its a personal choice, and I really dislike HTIB type systems.... they always sacrifice audio quality in the long run....
