I had a 20" wide running 1680x1050 for a while... then moved up to a 22" also running at the same resolution.

Im under the impression that a screen in anything other than its native resolution is gonna look ***

im thinking of upgrading to a 24" but the resolution of 1920x1080 is gonna hit my games! :(

missing something

Yes, you will need a monster PC to play games at 1920 x 1200.
And not running games at the screen native res, especially these wide screen jobbies, is not nice.
Best solution I have seen to date was a 32" Full HD TV with an DVI port.
Then use that. Bigger screen, but not too much power required for the graphics.
It is still good enough for day to day 2D work, just do not sit too close.

I had a 22" awhile back with a native res of 1680x1050. My gfx couldnt handle some games (Crysis) on the native res so i played it on 1280x800 which wasnt to bad.

As long as its the same aspect ratio it was fine.

Agree - its all about the aspect ratio. I've got an old setup but if my aspect is correct then never an issue on lower res.

+1 32" full hd TV try get 100hz though i have a series 5 samsung and it been great!!!! Only 60hz but.

For games and video, I find lower resolutions that are upscaled generally still look ok, but while in Windows/etc you really need to be at native res.
