what about this one? I neeeeed a LCD. Must be good for gaming and movies...
VX715 ViewSonic X Series 17" TFT SXGA LCD monitor : 8ms response time, 450:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 1280x1024 native resolution, anti-glare, TCO'99, RGB & DVI-D input - Black / Silver
You wont get stock of those though.:(

I have a big desk, so CRT 19" x 2 rocks and I play online gaming, so no moving arround.

but LCD would be nice :)

LG flatron L1710B

I own this screen and it's GREAT! I've had it for two years.
All the hoohah about lower than 8ms response time is just that - hoohah. There is NO difference, because your eyes can't see it!
Mine is rated at 16ms and I don't suffer from any ghosting when playing games or watching movies.
LCD is also much easier on the eyes - no radiation and much less glare.
Get an LCD, you won't regret it.
D.

So what is the best LCD you can buy in South Africa that is suitable for gaming as well as general use?

The Viewsonic VP930, available at ComputersOnly. A bit expensive tho. It's part of the review from TomsHardware that I linked to previously.
Thanks Toxin.
The price may seem steep, but it one helluva lot cheaper than LCD's used to be.
Looks good. Viewsonic is a good brand.
Just hope the refresh rate is fine for games.

i got a viewsonic 19" and works great for most things and when playing BF2 the small about of ghostng (Mostly in dark areas with spots of light like at night) u hardly notice cuz its a game and things happen fast. Movies... haven't seen any ghosting and normal usage is sweet.

I have a View Sonic VP730b and I'm very happy with it... for general use and gaming... :)
