LCD Screens

Hi,

I am looking at buying a 20" or 21" LCD screen but can't seem to source any. Are they just rare in SA or am I looking in the wrong places?

I stay in Cape Town, any ideas where to go look?

They are very rare indeed. Options are:

- Dell (long wait and crap customer service)
- Samsung (expensive)
- LG (VERY expensive)
- HP (good but a little slow, so depends on if you are using it for games/movies)

Those are 20.1" or 21" screens, 4:3. Widescreen is a different story, but still fairly limited:
- Viewsonic (VERY expensive)
- BenQ (not the best quality)
- Apple (stupidly expensive)
- Dell (same as above)

Another option is a Asus 20.1 LCD. also fsking expensive...

I saw digital planet has a 19" WS Samsung for R2278 (before discount). Doesnt do 1680x1050.... but for R2278...not a bad buy!

If you're gonna go the Dell route, I strongly suggest you read their forums before commiting. The new line of Dell monitors (20, 24 & 32 ") have met with LOTS of issues. Strange thing is that all the review sites give the new monitors excellent ratings, hence my initial desire to get one.

And no, I'm not a Dell-basher - I actually love their products.
