LCD - which is best?

Hi all

Am looking for an LCD, preferably under 8K, was thinking of the Sony Bravia,
Anyone have any thoughts on the Sony? Any one prefer any other makes.

I am only using it for normal TV and DVD's, no blu-ray or HD.

We have a LG 32lc7r Or something like that. Paid R6500 for it. It's been on the market for 16 months, is the current best selling LCD TV on the market and is HD Ready, for when you want it one day. Awesome awesome quality.

I have the new 32" Bravia, loving it. Use my xbox on it via HDMI and even normal DVDs look great. Its around that price to.

The bravia's do look good, the photos might not do it justice. Out of the 5 or so other similar lcds i tested, the bravia was the only one not made out of cheap plastic and was sturdy.

get a pc LCD and then um a dvd player, and a tv tuner and you good to go ]

I'd definately say Bravia followed by Samsung...

Edit: Although haven't been in the game for a while. Last I sold TV's, don't go for Bravia U-Series, S-Series is ok ... V-Series is awesome.

Anyone know any technical reason for Plasma displays having a sheet of glass in front of the screen?

LCD dobt have it - so what gives - besides dirty finger prints etc ?
