A supplier is having a special on these - R 699.00 ex vat.

I currently have a Gigabyte Nvidia 7300GT - would it be a worthwhile buy ?

Obviously you ain't using it for games and technically you won't see that much of a difference in windows.... If you have the cash to blow, I would say: Do it. It should be a lot faster than the 7300GT, if you decide to start playing games...

Eh - it's really not a gaming card at all. To me if a graphics card can't play games then what else is it good for?

rather get a better, even though "older" 8 series card, or do what I'm doing - go ATI!

yes for like R800-R1000 you could pick up an AMD hd4650 which is a lot faster and I think would have better features. and it's supported by ATI stream
