Anyone ever used Smart Leak Detection or other similar companies? Do they work? Our wolf has unearthed a freshwater spring in the back garden :/

Insurance sent out- waste of time. Didn't find anything.

Could help in your situation thou...

There are different methods of leak detection.
From experience, dealing with leak detectors, the gas test tends to be respectably accurate.

Find a Leak - Garry 0861116306

these guys sorted us out, they pump some type of gas through the pipes and then walk around with a "sniffer" machine until they detect the gas coming through the ground.

We lost R70k in our complex because of a leak, get it fixed!!

Yep, the gas / sniffer method is the way to go.

I used Gus @ PoolDiagnostics (082 514 5616) for my pool leaks - guy was f** awesome

Can't find the other thread where Gus was recommended. I had my pool leaking for months. Guys came out this morning and did extensive tests and found cracked mosaics on the one side and a "suction leak" (the suction pipe has a hairline crack and water leaks slowly - when the pump runs the leak does not happen, as the suction closes up the leak). The guys are still busy - pool almost drained empty (sigh $$$$$), mosaics fixed and pipe and jet replaced. Very minimal damage (weekend project will be to find ONE tile having the exact same color as the others).

Never really paid much attention to the whole "pool technology" but learned a ton of mildly-interesting facts on how they leak detect, what gas they use etc. Can only recommend them - very honest, professional and tidy.
